Klingt mal besser, das gitarrenspiel ist mal wieder sehr minimalistisch und abstrakt, ein wenig wie beim letzten Werk.

Was eine gequirlte Scheiße. Wird dann wohl, dass erste Dredg Album seit langem sein, was ich nicht sofort kaufe
Edit: Und wahrscheinlich generell nicht kaufen werde. Schade um eine großartige Band aber die ersten drei Songs können nur sehr wenig

Hätte ich nie gedacht - aber ich tendiere aktuell zu nicht kaufen und Hamburg auslassen.

After listening to the new album, it sounds like Dan is a member of the band, not just an outside producing force. Is that what you were going for?
Yea, this is definitely collaboration. This is the new Dredg record but it reminds me of when other bands work with a DJ or producer and it’s a collaboration record. We knew that going into it. The timing of it was perfect where we didn’t want to spend a whole year writing a big Dredg rock record, not that we don’t want to again, but, just for this one we had these songs we’ve been trading over e-mail with Gavin in Seattle and the rest of us in the Bay Area. We thought it was the perfect time to go with a collaboration, so you are correct by calling him a 5th member.On our last record, Matt Radosevich was a 5th member musically, but he’s not a musician in the sense where he has his style. That’s where Dan lies and it’s definitely more like a collaboration record. It could say “Dredg and Dan the Automator” on the cover, but, it doesn’t.

Do you see yourself writing anymore concept albums? I know a lot of bands hate that term, but El Cielo is usually praised above your other work for having a narrative that goes through the entire album.
Sure, I think we will in the future. This album is a different type of album and we’ve already started talking about some ideas of what could be next in that realm. If you look at our career, I think a lot of our albums are reactions to what we just did. Catch Without Arms was definitely a reaction to El Cielo, just a lot heavier, good rock. Even Pariah was, 4 years later, this kind of long and all over the place, stylistically. This new one is very streamlined and not really a concept record. I think we’d really like to do more of that in the future, for sure.

Das ganze Album ist übrigens bei YouTube online. The Ornament ist ja auch Teil des Albums, garnicht mitbekommen. Ist dem einen oder anderen ja noch bekannt von Live @ the Fillmore

Habe das Album jetzt komplett gehört.
Was für ein Mist.
Ich habe absolut keine Ahnung, was die Jungs sich dabei gedacht haben.
Selbst als Album für den Mainstream - wie so viele befürchten/voraussagen - taugt es nicht, da es einfach zu schlecht ist.
Würde da nicht dredg drauf stehen, täte es niemanden interessieren.
Die Abwärtsspirale war ja schon am letzten Album zu erkennen, aber das es so schnell so weit nach unten geht, hätte ich nicht gedacht.
Unfassbar...

Album durchgehört. Erster Eindruck: "Was zur Hölle ist das denn bitte?!" 
Kein einziger Song weiß mich zu 100% zu überzeugen. Bin unfassbar enttäuscht. Also wenn das Ding noch ein "Grower" werden sollte, fress ich 'nen Besen!
Von mir aus sollen sie das Album komplett am Ring spielen, dann muss ich mich nicht grün und blau ärgern, dass ich zeitgleich bei SOAD bin...

Geht mir leider genauso
Bin grad stark am überlegen ob ich mir das Album überhaupt noch kaufe.
Dabei hatte ich mich so auf das neue Album gefreut...
