Summer in Werchter. It’s always party time, even with increased controls for more security.

Summer is just around the corner. Werchter is getting ready for three top events: AC/DC on Monday 16 May, Rock Werchter from Thursday 30 June until Sunday 3 July and TW Classic on Saturday 9 July. This year, extra security measures will be put in place, given that the whole country is currently on terrorist alert level 3. We have been organising additional meetings intensively over the last weeks and months, with local and federal police, and with the local and provincial authorities. Existing plans have been adapted and additional measures have been put in place. For security reasons, it is not possible to communicate all the details of existing and supplementary security procedures, nor is it possible to disclose all the measures which the festivals and authorities will be taking in this respect. The safety of concert and festival goers, artists and their crew, employees and neighbouring residents is always the highest priority.
During the AC/DC, Rock Werchter and TW Classic events, there will be an increased police presence in and around the Festival Park. Additional private security guards will also be deployed. The controls at the Festival Park entrance will be more stringent than usual. Backpacks and bags are welcome in the Festival Park, but these will be subject to strict controls. Visitors are requested to open these spontaneously and show the contents to our staff. Before being admitted to the Festival Park, each visitor will pass through a metal detector gate. These metal detectors will not only be used at Werchter, but also at Graspop Metal Meeting, Dour Festival, Tomorrowland and Pukkelpop. All the festivals are jointly investing in more security. Each festival is also drawing up appropriate measures in consultation with authorities and local councils.
A list of items which are not admitted into the Festival Park in Werchter can be found on the websites (livenation.be, rockwerchter.be and twclassic.be). People purchasing tickets will be informed through a mailing about the new measures being put in place. Additionally, a further set of supplementary measures has been drawn up for the activity around Werchter (camping sites, car parks, etc.), in consultation with the municipalities of Rotselaar and Haacht. There will therefore be supplementary camera surveillance and professional security guards will be deployed in and around the camping sites.
Above all, these reinforced measures must not impact on the festivities. Every concert and every festival is a major party, this and every summer. We have been working hard to ensure that the controls run as quickly and smoothly as possible. We thank concert and festival goers in advance for their understanding, for their spontaneous cooperation during the controls, and for the extra effort demanded.

TW Classic und Werchter gerade via facebook

Auf allen großen belgischen Festivals wird es bedingt durch die erhöhte Terrorwarnstufe erhöhte Polizeipräsenz und deutlich schärfere Kontrollen geben. Unter anderem werden Metalldetektortore, ähnlich wie am Flughafen eingesetzt.

Speziell erwähnt sind hier alle drei Großveranstaltungen im Werchter Festivalpark sowie Graspop Metal Meeting, Dour Festival, Tomorrowland und Pukkelpop.

War gestern in Hamburg und kann mich den Vorrednern aus Berlin nur anschließen. Allein stimmlich ist das Live einfach unfassbar gut. Die geht wahrscheinlich einen Tag ins Studio und singt das Album in einem Stück runter und das Teil ist im Kasten.

Auch wenn ich von mir aus wohl nicht hingegangen wäre und eher mitgeschleppt wurde muss ich sagen, das es die gut 90€ im Oberrang definitiv Wert war. Einfach eine tolle Frau und tolle Atmosphäre.

E.: Gestern mal wieder der Beweis, dass man den Sound auch in einer Halle dieser Größe gut hinbekommen kann - glasklar. Nicht so ein Rotz wie leider bei U2 in Köln.

Nicht falsch verstehen^^ Ist natürlich Meckern auf hohem Niveau. Freue mich wie dumm.

Liegt vielleicht nur daran, dass die Foo Fighters meine Erwartungen letztes Jahr so gesprengt haben auch was die Setlänge angeht.

Gestern war die erste Festivalsshow des Jahres

Setlist

Laut Timetable waren 2 Stunden angesetzt.

Habe schon schlimmeres befürchtet aber viel mehr darf man von dieser Band glaub ich in 2016 leider nicht mehr erwarten - schade. Immerhin gute Mischung mit Schwerpunkt auf älterem Material.

Grundsätzlich spricht mich das Line-Up wohl an - Die Bühnenverteilung ist für meinen Geschmack aber absolut grausam... Naja ist leider häufig das Problem wenn man so viele Bühnen hat und alle zumindest abends Namenhaft besetzen will = 1000 Überschneidungen

Montreux allein ist schon ne Reise Wert. Die Preise natürlich echt hart.. aber so 2-3 Abende sind echt verlockend - vorallem in diesen Locations

War Ostern dort als ich mal nen skifreien Tag brauchte
