Also letzte Tour war's glaub ich auf so gut wie jeder Setlist am Start. Könnte gut sein, dass sie's auch dieses mal wieder auspacken, weil letztes Jahr waren sie ziemlich begeistert angesichts der Fan-Chöre am Ende.....mal sehen...

Fände die auch als LNS absolut cool. Als Headliner ziehen sie heutzutage wahrscheinlich zu wenig Leute, aber als Center-LNS hätten sie sicherlich trotzdem ne Menge Publikum und es wäre ne gelungene Abwechslung von den Standart-Headlinern...

und für so ein Lineup über 200 Euro...lol, dagegen sind die Ringrocker ja beinahe im Paradies ^^
Kiss is ja dann auch so gut wie sicher, oder wer könntte sonst mit "one other legendary rock band TBC" gemeint sein?

Hm, die erste Bestätigungswelle traf ziemlich genau meinen Geschmack, dafür ist die zweite heute aber sowas von lahm und unspektakulär...das geht gar nicht. JUDAS PRIEST To Play UK's DOWNLOAD Festival? - Jan. 25, 2008

Kerrang! magazine reports that at the Download fan forum, which took place this evening at London's The Clachan pub, Download festival director Andy Copping hinted that British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST may be playing this year's event.

Other bands rumoured to appear included WITHIN TEMPTATION, KORN, MACHINE HEAD and FALL OUT BOY.

The fan forum also clarified promoter Live Nation's stance on green issues, improving transport links to the festival, improving security and improving facilities for disabled festival goers.

The 2008 Download festival will take place at Castle Donington June 13 to June 15. An official announcement — unveiling this year's headliners — is expected to follow in early February.

According to eFestivals.co.uk, METALLICA and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE are rumored to be two of the three American headliners slated to perform at this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals, which will happen, as usual, in England over the August Bank holiday weekend — from Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24.

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich recently spoke with Revolver magazine about the band's ninth studio album, which is expected out later this year and will be its first all-new effort since 2003's "St. Anger". Ulrich told the magazine that the group's new material "is certainly a lot more dynamic and a lot more varied than the last couple of go-rounds," adding, "There's a lot of light and shade in these songs. There's heavy, fast, nutty stuff, and then there's some slowdowns and musical interludes." Ulrich also said that the album has more in common with some of the group's '80s releases than more recent offerings like "St. Anger" and "Load".

Ulrich wouldn't agree that the yet-to-be-titled disc is a full-blown return to the past, saying, "I hate to be that specific, because six months from now people are gonna go, 'What the fuck? Lars lied to us!' But it feels that way to me."

The drummer also revealed that producer Rick Rubin, working with the band for the first time, wanted METALLICA to use classic efforts like "Ride the Lightning" and "Master of Puppets" as "reference points" for its new songs.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE — vocalist Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, drummer Brad Wilk and bassist Tim Commerford — released three politically charged albums: 1992's self-titled debut, 1996's "Evil Empire", 1999's "Battle of Los Angeles" and its 2000 covers album "Renegades".

It split in 2000 after the singer decided to record a solo album. The rest of the band formed AUDIOSLAVE with SOUNDGARDEN frontman Chris Cornell. The Harvard-educated Morello also recently released a solo album under the alias THE NIGHTWATCHMAN. "

Wär'n echt fett, obwohl das RaR sicherlich ein sehr ungewohntes Pflaster für DT wäre, weil da laufen ja nicht wirklich viele Prog-Metal-Fans rum. Ein kleiner Frickel-Gig am Nachmittag könnte auch durchaus in die Hose gehen imo...

Ich bin mir sicher, dass es spätestens zur EU-Festival-Tour erschienen ist, wenn auch eventuell kurz davor. Noch ne "Sick/Escape/Excuse from working"-Tour können die sich nicht mehr erlauben, vor allem, weil denen die Amis dann wutschnaubend das HQ einrennen würden

Jo, hab ich auch von gelesen, kann mir's aber auch nicht so wirklich vorstellen. Denke eher, dass das sehr zeitnah zu den EU-Festival-Dates kommt, um das direkt in Europa und danach USA zu promoten.

AC/DC To Tour In Late 2008? - Jan. 10, 2008

According to the Spanish metal webzine The Metal Circus, AC/DC will tour during the second half of 2008. A source told the site that some of the AC/DC tour crew was informed that the group will hit the road later in the year. There are currently no details available regarding where or when the tour will start.

In other news, Total Rock has reported that there's a fair chance that AC/DC will play one of the so-called "secret shows" in the UK in late January. Speculation is running wild regarding possible cities that will host these showcases, but the group's record label, Sony/BMG, is keeping things quiet, with Sony BMG Italy going as far as to deny that there are plans for an AC/DC album and tour at this moment.

As previously reported, a two-and-a-half-minute Swiss TV report (courtesy of AZonline.ch) on the upcoming AC/DC special "secret" club gig — which will reportedly take place on January 25 at Glashaus in Reinach, Switzerland — can be viewed at this location (Note: The video report is in German). Only 400 tickets are apparently available for the concert, which is part of a short mini-tour of small venues the band is allegedly planning on undertaking at the end of the month.
