komisch, habe den newsletter net bekommen... und in den letzten mlk bzw. rar newsletter stand bzgl. hatebreed nichts drin... genauso, wie von disturbed noch nichts wirklich offizielles verlautbart wurde... [addsig]

hatebreed.com news:
1/17/2003 7:45:00 AMITS BEEN WAY TO LONG SINCE AN UPDATE!!!
WHERE DO WE START?

Lets see, I guess first we should start by saying THANKYOU to all who made 2002 such a landmark year for Hatebreed. Looking back its hard to believe all the places we have been and the people we have met. Its just truly amazing. Sometimes its hard to think of ways to show everyone our truest most sincere gratitude. Please know that your support means the world to us. When we started this band never did we ever think we would make it this far. We owe it all to everyone who has been supportive over the years and to everyone who believes in this band. All the best to you & yours in 2003.

Sincerely, Jamey, Beattie, Sean & Matt.

Now a little recap. When we left off last we had just finished touring New Zealand (which is probably one of the most beautiful places on earth) & Japan w/ Converge. New Zealand was great because it was our own headline tour and we did it DIY style in a van with our boy West Side Dave who set up the shows for us. We played with all core bands. The scene is real strong there and we'd heard good things from V.O.D., Shutdown & One King Down who had all toured there in the past so we had to go check it out. I guess we didn't realize how insane the shows were gonna be. Kids went off! We've been getting letters and emails from there since our 7"s came out in 96 & 97 so this tour was long overdue. Everyone made us feel real at home and we can't wait to comeback. The scenery is amazing. The air is clean and the people are really supportive. Thanx NZ! Now to Japan... Our first show was Beast Feast w/ Slayer in an arena with 8000 people going berserk. It was surreal! Plus we had so many friends there! Shadows Fall, Anthrax, Soulfly & Killswitch Engage to name a few. The last time we saw Howard from KSE was at The Hanover House in Meriden, CT now we're both playing in Japan in an arena with Slayer!!! THAT WAS WEIRD! So anyway we partied and had a blast at Beast Feast. The other 3 shows were in jam packed clubs with Converge & cool local bands like Numb, TJ Maxx & Loyal To The Grave. It was insane to see & hear everyone singing every word to every song in a place so far away where people barely speak English. Not to mention people waiting in the hotel and at the train station just to take pictures and stuff. It was nuts! After Japan we played one show in Honolulu Hawaii. It was the last day of our world tour and boy was it a good show to end it on. The place was literally a warzone from start to finish. People were going off the hook. We played like practically everything we had AND an encore (which we never do). We will definitely be back! Thanx Hawaii!

After Hawaii we had a long flight home and 2 days off. Christmas Eve & Christmas. Then it was time for Stillborn Fest. Dec. 26th was the day we left for tour in the end of 2001. We had toured pretty much all year aside from our 3 weeks off back in October when we were supposed to do another video (which we will be talking about in a minute). The first show was NYC at Roseland. It was our first show on the East Coast since September and our first NY show since our sold out gig at Irving Plaza in April. We knew it was going to be a good show (NYC always is) but what happened that night was just astonishing. Over 3400 people came out! We've only ever been to Roseland to see shows. We never thought we would play there let alone headline over Biohazard. That was weird but at the same time it was an honor and a huge accomplishment. All 6 bands on the bill that night had amazing responses. It feels great to give bands an opportunity to play. We do it where & whenever we can but that night was special cause it showed a lot of people just how strong the scene is and how many talented and hardworking bands are out there. Props to LIAV, FBC, Sworn Enemy & E-Town for doing a great job. Next up was Philly. Over 2500 people. Our second sold out show at The Electric Factory this year. What a night! Madball fucking played! They are one of our favorite bands of all time and it had been ages since we shared the stage. It was one of the best shows of the year no doubt. Philly will definitely get another Stillborn Fest this year! Then it was on to good old freezing cold Cleveland. We did 2 stages so we could have 15 bands play. It was a long night but it really didn't matter cause we had a blast hanging with Ringworm, Subzero and everybody from out there. 1500 people showed up and the crowd was sick. We even played Severed cause there was a dude holding up a "Severed" sign. Everyone just kept chanting Hatebreed when we would finish the songs. We felt like Slayer! haha. After that was Pittsburgh, we all felt like shit and were ready to go home at that point but the show was good. The crowd really made up for the energy we lacked. We had no heat in the dressing room and noone slept the night before so everyone was just sleeping on the floor freezing their balls off. We definitely could have played better & longer but everyone has off nights. We owe you one Pittsburgh! That night we made our way back home to CT. 9 hours in the van through the snow. Our gear truck crashed but luckily our boys Bruce & Mikey B were OK. Some of the gear and merch got fucked up but the made it to the show in the nick of time and everything went off OK. It was our last show for 2002. We had so many old friends, family & fans in the house and it was a great night. Sold out show. Our biggest headline show in CT ever. 1400 people jammed in the Webster Theater. Drunken Idiots, Fights, Equipment problems just like the old days! No HATEBREED show would be complete without em. WE LOVE YOU CT. We owe it all to you. Thanx for everything.
