PORTISHEAD confirm "I'LL BE YOUR MIRROR" Curated by PORTISHEAD & ATP
23rd & 24th July - Alexandra Palace, London


On the weekend of 23rd and 24th July 2011 at Alexandra Palace, London, All Tomorrow's Parties will present the first UK I'll Be Your Mirror event, which will be curated by Portishead and ATP.

Acting as sister event to ATP Festivals and named after the b-side to The Velvet Underground's original All Tomorrow's Parties 7" single, I'll Be Your Mirror will be a new series of artist curated music, film and art events taking place in cities worldwide.

Portishead will headline both nights, with a different supporting line-up joining them each day. Tickets will cost £59 per day with weekend tickets priced at £100. Was für ein Line Up!

Europa im Juni/Juli, hmmm... kann mir eigentlich nicht vorstellen, dass die groß Festivals spielen. Egal, ich muss die sehen, stehen zusammen mit TOOL ganz oben auf meiner Liste.

Nun wurden sie für das FIB 2011 (Benicassim) bestätigt[addsig]

Geil, spielen also Gümmelfestivals. Dann ist die Chance für das Hurricane ja doch recht groß, wenn das Melt nicht dazwischen funkt.

Portishead sind halt nicht gerade als Festivalschlampen bekannt, die Auftritte der letzten 10 Jahre kann man wahrscheinlich an einer Hand abzählen. Überrascht mich daher, dass sie nicht wieder ganz auf Festivals verzichten oder nur 1-2 ausgewählte (wie z.B. Primavera & Coachella 2008) Festivals spielen, sondern scheinbar auch ganz "normale" Festivals spielen, was eine ausführlichere Festivaltour als sonst vermuten lässt. Benicassim ist ja nun - vom Hörensagen - nicht gerade als das Musiknazimekka bekannt, eher im Gegenteil...

War nicht so negativ gemeint wie es sich anhört, bin nur überrascht (und erfreut (und sauer, weil sie das für das Primavera ausschließt)).

FiB ist aber sowas wie ein exilbritisches Festival, was es schon wieder spezieller macht.
