2006-02-06
Opeth has been confirmed for the Gods Of Metal festival on the 3rd and 4th of June in Italy.
[addsig]
Very good rumour.. we'll know more tomorrow:
Exact cities and dates will be announced starting February 7th, so stay tuned![addsig]
They will definitely not play on the Dutch festival Pinkpop (3-5 June). This was told by the organisation. The Arctic Monkeys are unavailable in that period.
This could mean two things:
1) They perform on Rock Am Ring
2) They perform somewhere else
I'll go for option 1 [addsig]
Sting will play the Dutch festival Bospop (8 & 9 july).[addsig]

New AUDIOSLAVE Album Coming In June - Jan. 30, 2006
Launch Radio Networks reports: AUDIOSLAVE will release its third album this June, a spokesperson for the band's label has told Launch. An exact release date, title and track listing are not available yet, although it is known that the band began working on new music as early as last summer, with work picking up again shortly after the Christmas and New Year holidays. Although there was a two-and-a-half year gap between the band's self-titled 2002 debut and its 2005 sophomore effort, "Out Of Exile", the new disc will arrive just over a year since "Out Of Exile"'s release last May.
AUDIOSLAVE plans to get back on the road sometime in early 2006, according to recent postings at the band's official web site. Lead singer Chris Cornell has been in the news recently for suing his ex-wife and SOUNDGARDEN manager Susan Silver, claiming she overstepped her professional boundaries and also conspired to keep money and personal property from him.
By the way, official website here.[addsig]

Hmm there are some rumours for the Roskilde festival in Denmark (29.06-02.07):
"Radiohead is very busy recording their 7th studio album at the moment. If all goes according to the plan, starving fans can look forward to new tunes available for download from Radiohead’s own website in April or May 2006. Moreover, rumour has it that the British band is planning a tour from May – and to make the rumour even more interesting, the German website Intro states that Radiohead will play Roskilde '06."
and:
"In a recent interview in DR2’s “Musikprogrammet”, the energetic boys (The Strokes) from New York told interviewer Anja Pil that they were ready to take the stage at this summer’s Roskilde Festival."

News about Tool:
Zitat:
TOOL has entered the mixing stage on its new album, according to sources close to the band, and is looking at an April or May release for the disc, its first since 2001's "Lateralus". As is typical for TOOL, few details have emerged about the project since the band reconvened earlier this year to begin recording. TOOL drummer Danny Carey told Launch that while the new music was hard to describe, he thought fans would have no problem recognizing it. "All I can say is you should probably just look at the past TOOL records," he said. "It's just kind of the next stage of development. Some of the tunes are pretty heavy on this one. It's still gonna be weird time signatures and all that stuff. It's just what comes out of us, you know. We just try to be true to our chemistry when we're in the little room in here together jamming, and what comes out comes out."[addsig]
Oh my God I can't believe it Kaiser Chiefs rock![addsig]
Yeah, Depeche Mode By the way: great presale date, I know what to ask for Christmas [addsig]
