DAVID LEE ROTH Says VAN HALEN Reunion Is 'Inevitable'

David: I talked to the drummer (Alex Van Halen) about a week ago. And I think, eventually, the inevitable will happen.

Q: You mean a reunion?

David: Sure. And it definitely won't be rockers with walkers. Getting onstage and singing "Dance the Night Away" — let me tell you how difficult that isn't going to be. When people bring up VAN HALEN, I talk about it with pride and with no apprehension at all. I play those songs all the time.

die haben ja vor 2-3 jahren mal ein best-of-album rausgebracht und da hats ja damals schon geheißen, das sie sich wiedervereinigt haben bzw. sammy hagar und/oder david lee roth als sänger wieder aufgenommen haben.

Eine meiner Lieblingsband The Cult kommt wohl wieder zusammen, nachdem Ian Astbury zuletzt mit The Doors Of The 21st Century getourt ist. Auch wenn sie sich nie wirklich offiziell aufgelöst haben, freut's mich.

Die Gothrock Urgesteine von Sisters Of Mercy werden das erste Mal seit sechs Jahren wieder auf Tour gehen!

Wer die Sister Of Mercy schon in den ewigen musikalischen Jagdgründen glaubte, kann sich jetzt auf eine Überraschung gefasst machen. Andrew Eldritch und Kollegen wagen - abgesehen von einiger Festivaltingelei - nach über sechs Jahren Pause wieder den Schritt ins Rampenlicht.

Mitte Februar ist der Kick-Off der Nordamerika Tour in Las Vegas. Dann geht es weiter nach Denver und schließlich nach Los Angeles. Zu hören soll es auch jedes Menge neuen Stuff geben: 'Neues und daher noch unveröffentlichtes Material macht im Moment die Hälfte des Live Sets aus...', so Andrew in einem Statement auf der offiziellen Sisters Seite.

Das momentane Line-Up der Band sieht wie folgt aus: Andrew Eldritch (Gesang), Adam Pearson (Gitarre) und der Drumcomputer 'Doctzor Avalanche'.

Über weitere Gigs in Europa ist noch nichts bekannt.

Endgültig genug scheinen Pink Floyd von den nicht abebbenden Gerüchten um eine Reunion zu haben. Deswegen stellt Gitarrist David Gilmour in einem Statement ein für alle Mal klar: "Seit Live 8 gibt es bestimmte Teile in den Medien, die vorsätzlich die Fans und Öffentlichkeit irreführen indem sie Geschichten und Zitate um eine Pink Floyd-Tour erfinden. Nick [Mason], Richard [Wright], Roger [Waters] und ich sagen den Fans nun gerade heraus, dass das nicht passieren wird. Wir bitten die verschiedenen Teile, die diese Geschichten erschaffen dies nun zu unterlassen, und sei es nur zum Wohle der Fans..."

He continues, "We like the fact that we dislike each other. In a weird way it makes us like each other all the more.

"It's so brazenly in-your-face honest between us. I love being on stage with those chaps - and I wouldn't be seen dead with them off.

"And they'd tell you the same about me."

Genesis-Comeback mit Peter Gabriel immer wahrscheinlicher

London - Gerüchte über ein Comeback von Genesis sind schon lange im Umlauf, jetzt werden scheinbar Nägel mit Köpfen gemacht.

Bei der Premiere des Musicals "Tarzan" erzählte Phil Collins , dass eine Reunion von Genesis mit Peter Gabriel als Sänger wirklich möglich sei, berichtet der BBC-Sender "6 Music" auf seiner Webseite.

Zumal sich alle Mitglieder der Band erst kürzlich in Glasgow getroffen hätten. Allerdings wird es wohl nichts vor 2008 werden, meinte Phil Collins, denn Peter Gabriel sei bis Ende nächsten Jahres gebunden.

naja wenn sie auch die kommerziell erfolgreichen sachen spielen (die beiden cd's invisible touch und we can't dance), dann werd ich wohl dabei sein.

das wäre für mich DIE Reunion überhaupt!

das hat Phil aber schon während seiner Tour gesagt, dass er begeistert von der Idee wäre sich wieder für Genesis an's Schlagzeug zu setzen und Peter Gabriel das Mikro zu überlassen...

Peter Gabriel hat kurz darauf in einem Interview erzählt, dass er das sehr gerne machen würde, aber dass sie sich diesmal mehr Zeit lassen sollten mit proben als letztes mal, was ja ziemlich daneben gegangen sein soll laut Gabriel...

ich bin mir sicher, dass sie mit Gabriel am Mikro die ganzen alten Sachen spielen werden! aber 100%ig!

aber auch Phil wird sicher singen, ich glaube nicht, dass sie das ganze Material mit Collins als Sänger einfach rauslassen werden... und dass er auch am Schlagzeug sitzend singen kann wissen wir ja spätestens seit In The Air Tonight

oder sie nehmen noch Chester Thompson mit! das wär auch grandios! neben Genesis und Phil Collins war er ja noch u.a. für Santana, Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton, Tony Banks, Donna Summer, Bee Gees, Neil Diamond, oder auch Ben E. King tätig (!)

n den frühen 90er Jahren feierten die Lemonheads – in der Original Besetzung mit Dando (voc, git), Ben Deily (voc, git, dr) und Jesse Peretz (b) - mit Singles wie „Mrs. Robinson“ und ihren Alben IT'S A SHAME ABOUT RAY (1992) und COME ON FEEL THE LEMONHEADS (1993) große Erfolge. Nachdem von ihrer LP CAR BUTON CLOTH (1996) dann allerdings nur noch schlappe 91.000 Exemplare über US-Ladentische wanderten, löste Dando die Band auf – um sich zunächst ein paar Jahre lang seiner Drogen-, dann, ab 2001 mit mäßigem Erfolg seiner Solokarriere zu widmen.

Die jetzige Reunion der Band zeichnete sich schon im vergangenen Jahr ab, als die Lemonheads einige wenige Liveshows spielten. Nun hat das Trio, neuerdings bestehend aus Evan Dando, Descendents-Drummer Bill Stevenson und Bassist Karl Alvarez einen Deal beim Label Vagrant Records unterzeichnet.

Das neue Album ist so gut wie im Kasten und soll im September erscheinen. Eine ausgiebige Tour ist in Planung.

With or without the reunion I don't really care it's important that we're brothers blood, family it's a great thing. But to tell you the truth, it would be cool to have a reunion. Even my kids wanna see it. My [stepson] Richie is like, 'Oh, my God, I've gotta I know I saw SEPULTURA, but I was too little, I don't remember.' And SEPULTURA has touched so many people. So it would be really, really cool."

With regards to how a SEPULTURA reunion might affect SOULFLY, Max said, "I think SOULFY [and SEPULTURA] are completely different things. SOULFLY has its own identity and its own vibe. And it will not conflict with SEPULTURA, I don't think it's two completely different things. And touring with BLACK SABBATH last year I was really inspired. It was so good to see Those guys, they hated each other for a long period, and you see that they make up and they go on tour, and they I don't know. You can really see that Ozzy loves BLACK SABBATH. It's in his blood. He loves [the band]. How can you not? It was inspiring for me. So I think I understand more now why people want to see [a] SEPULTURA [reunion]. It makes more sense now than it did When we first split up, I was like, 'No, I'm never doing that shit again. Screw this, I hate this shit,' but I think different now. It's working itself [out]. When it happens, it'll happen, and it'll be good."
